Position Summary
ChargePoint is looking for an outstanding engineer interested in applying creativity and a broad skill set toward building cutting-edge software for a next-generation electric vehicle charging platform. An ideal candidate would be comfortable working independently on the architecture, design, and implementation of new systems in a rapidly evolving problem-space. Expert-level C coding in a Linux environment is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software components producing high quality work consistently through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Create local and distributed control and management subsystems for power modules, vehicle communications, and user interfaces.
- Work on platform software including Linux BSP, board bring-up, Linux kernel, diagnostics, and communication interfaces including CAN, RS-232/485, I2C, SPI, Modbus, and PPP.
- Support for real-time cloud management and remote administration.
- Opportunities to become involved in UI and UX design and machine learning.
- Wireless networking, including LTE, Wi-Fi, and BLE.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and globally with hardware and cloud engineering teams to define specifications, features, and APIs.
- Participate in design and code reviews, as well as mentoring/leading other members of the team.
Requirements
- Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M. E in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 12-18 years of experience in developing embedded system products using C/C++, Python.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in leading a 3-5 people team.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to make critical system-level design decisions and drive projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Linux BSP platform including custom board bring-up, U-Boot, kernel, device driver functions, file systems (ext4, UBIFS, JFFS2), sound system (ALSA), Camera, and system software.
- Experience in asynchronous event-driven architecture and developing scalable and latency-optimized distributed application services in a mesh network.
- Experience in PCI-DSS compliance secured cloud connectivity applications using HTTPS, Websockets, JSON, XML, Efficient Extensible Interchange (EXI), protobuf, OpenSSL, IPSec, VPN, MAC filters, and network firewalls.
- Experience with a range of native graphics/display products and user interface application services using QT, QML, C++, and JavaScript desired.
- Familiarity with the Yocto, buildroot, GCC, toolchain, Make, CMake, git, gdb, core dumps.
- Exposure in connectivity architecture using Wireless (cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC), and wired (Ethernet) interfaces a plus.

What You Will Be Doing
The SalesForce CPQ Support and Application Developer position at ChargePoint, Inc. is an opportunity for a seasoned business applications support engineer to make a significant contribution to ChargePoint’s growth and maturation. In this role, you will share responsibility for application support, development and maintenance of SalesForce and functional extensions.
You will focus on Level 2 activities, supporting complex business processes that require both technical and business insight. Some development work will be required as part of Level 2 activities. You will also perform administrative duties such as adding user accounts to business applications, resetting passwords and other routine tasks when escalated from Level 1, but this is not a focus. Since this role is located in India, you must have excellent communication skills to understand reported problems and communicate solutions. Patience and a helpful attitude are crucial to success in this role.
This position would suit a self-motivated, results-oriented individual who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment and has experience in working effectively with and providing world-class service to customers. This hands-on support role requires technical knowledge, the skills to fix bugs implement enhancements, and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
What You Will Bring To ChargePoint
- Provide support and remediation across multiple applications, including Salesforce CPQ, Netsuite, Arena, Expensify, Coupa, and our proprietary Network Operation System
- Cover both Level 1 (e.g. – user account creation, password resets, etc.) and Level 2 activities (e.g. – troubleshooting, problem resolution, business analysis) with a focus on Level 2
- Service tickets submitted by users through the IT Service Desk for Salesforce, Netsuite and Coupa
- Analyze Apex, Visualforce, and triggers to identify problems
- Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
- Provide basic how-to application usage instructions to customers
- Liaise with Level 3 resources at ChargePoint in Campbell and with India-based developers on bugs and enhancements
- Monitor the results of scheduled interfaces and integrations e.g. – Salesforce/Netsuite, 3PL/Netsuite, EDI) as instructed
- Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services
- Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
- Follow-up and update customer status and information
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
