Installing the Arduino Software (IDE) on Windows machines is described in this document.
Get the Arduino software (IDE) downloaded.
From the download page, download the most recent version. The Zip and Installer (.exe) packages are your options. We recommend the first one because it installs everything you need to use the Arduino Software (IDE), including the drivers, right away. The drivers must be manually installed with the Zip package. You can also use the Zip file to make a portable installation.
Proceed with the installation once the download is finished, and if the operating system gives you a warning, please accept the driver installation process.
The process will extract and install all necessary files for the Arduino Software (IDE) to function properly. The text of the Arduino getting started guide is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License. The guide’s code samples are made available to the public.
