California ZEV Rules & LA Clean Air Goals
Be part of Los Angeles’ zero-emission ports, freight and transit revolution
Los Angeles sits at the heart of California’s clean air and climate strategy. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has adopted some of the world’s most ambitious rules for zero-emission cars, trucks and buses. The Advanced Clean Cars II and Advanced Clean Trucks regulations are pushing rapid EV adoption in Southern California, especially around freight corridors and disadvantaged communities most impacted by pollution.
The twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach – the busiest container complex in North America – are electrifying drayage trucks, yard tractors and cargo-handling equipment. LA Metro is rolling out battery-electric buses, while ride-hailing, delivery and municipal fleets are under pressure to go electric. Utilities such as LADWP, Southern California Edison and other partners are investing in make-ready infrastructure, depot charging and fast-charging sites. All of this creates a sustained need for EV technicians, charging engineers, fleet managers and system integrators in the LA region.
