77th Independence Day Speech
Today, we gather to celebrate the 77th year of our independence. Seventy-six years ago, at the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world slept, India awoke to life and freedom. It is a day to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, to honor the spirit of India, and to strive towards the realization of our dreams for this great nation.
I, Avinash Singh, CEO of DIYguru, stand here with a heart full of gratitude for the opportunities this country has given us, and with a vision for a sustainable future that we need to build together.
This vision is not just about technology or innovation. It’s about the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil that grows our food, the climate that shapes our seasons. It’s about ensuring that our children and grandchildren inherit a world that is as bountiful and beautiful as the one we inherited.
The challenge of climate change is real and urgent. The world is at a tipping point. The decisions we make today will determine the kind of world we leave behind for future generations. The time for action is now. The place for action is here, in India, with its 1.4 billion people and its rapidly growing economy.
As a nation, we have made great strides in energy efficiency and renewable energy. We have set ambitious targets for ourselves in the Paris Agreement, and we are on track to meet them. But we need to do more. We need to transition from fossil fuels to green energy. We need to embrace e-mobility. We need to strive for net-zero carbon emissions.
E-mobility is not just about electric cars or bikes. It’s about a paradigm shift in the way we think about transport. It’s about moving from an economy that is powered by fossil fuels to one that is powered by clean, renewable energy. It’s about creating jobs, reducing pollution, improving public health, and making our cities more livable.
At DIYguru, we are committed to this vision. We are working tirelessly to democratize e-mobility, to make it accessible and affordable for everyone. We are investing in research and development, in education and training, in infrastructure and partnerships. We are doing our part to make India a global leader in e-mobility.
But we cannot do it alone. We need the support of the government, the private sector, and civil society. We need the support of every Indian.
This is not a task for the faint-hearted. It requires courage, commitment, and conviction. But remember, it was with courage, commitment, and conviction that we won our freedom. It is with the same spirit that we must now fight for our future.
As we stand here today, on the 77th Independence Day of India, let us pledge to do our part to secure a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. Let us pledge to make India a global leader in green energy and e-mobility. Let us pledge to strive for net-zero carbon emissions.
Let us remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi, who said, “The future depends on what we do in the present.” Let us act now, for the future of India, and the future of the world.
Thank you, and Jai Hind!
